MoveSmart Frequently Asked Questions

  • As soon as you purchase MoveSmart, you’ll gain access to the course hub, starter pack and module one, including a short anatomy lesson and three movement sessions.

Subsequent modules are released weekly with email notifications each time new content becomes available. You can follow the suggested release schedule or move through the course at your own pace if you need more time. You’ll have access to all course materials for 12 months from your purchase date.

  • MoveSmart is ideal if you experience general back stiffness or discomfort and aren’t currently engaging in a regular practice like Yoga, Pilates, or back care exercises, but have been told you should. It’s especially suited if you’re short on time or unsure where to begin.

If you’re currently dealing with an injury, significant pain, or nerve symptoms (such as tingling, numbness, or shooting pain), check with your clinician first to see whether a program like MoveSmart is appropriate for you right now.

  • No. The course is suitable for complete beginners and people returning to movement after time away.

  • Not in the traditional sense. MoveSmart is an education led movement course that teaches you the principles of functional movement (spine mobility, core stability, breath, posture and balance). The movement content is based in beginner Pilates.

  • You need very little kit to complete MoveSmart, just a mat (or comfy floor space), and a few inexpensive props, some of which you may already have.

    Essential kit:

    • Resistance band

    • 9” Pilates ball

    • Tennis ball or prickle ball.

    Recommended kit:

    • 90cm foam roller

    • Yoga block

Links to these items are listed in the starter pack, and props aren’t required until module two, so there’s time to source any items you need.

  • MoveSmart is not specifically designed as prenatal exercise and isn’t suitable for anyone beyond their first trimester of pregnancy.

It is however a brilliant option for those looking to gently rebuild movement in the postnatal period (once you have been signed off to exercise by your GP).
